To replace the tailgate struts, first open the tailgate and secure it in the raised position using a support. Next, unclip the retaining ring that connects the gas support strut to the tailgate using a flathead screwdriver. After removing the retaining ring, unclip the support strut and then clean the mounting seats for the new struts with WD-40 spray. At this point, you can insert the new gas support struts, snapping the retaining ring that connects the support strut to the bodywork and the tailgate. Once the operation is complete, you can close the boot.
