How to Remove the Water Pump from a 1.9 CDTI or JTDm Engine?

To replace the water pump on a 1.9 CDTI or JTDm engine, remove the side cover to access the pulleys. The water pump is located directly under the upper pulley, but to remove it, you must first remove the timing belt. Once this is removed, you can also take off the pulley and the screws that secure the pump in its housing. At this point, the pump can be extracted and replaced; finally, reassemble all previously removed parts.
