Operation: How to prevent engine failures in Jaguar and Land Rover 2.7 and 3.0 engines.

It is well known that Jaguar-Land Rover 2.7/3.0 engines have issues. Much of it depends on usage. If they are primarily used in the city, it is our fault for using them incorrectly. They also require more frequent maintenance than what is suggested by the manufacturer. Often, small problems related to the turbines are underestimated, but they can cause significant damage that may require complete replacement. Additionally, these types of engines require a specific type of oil, produced by Castrol and Shell, not just any 5W30 oil. It may seem insignificant, but it is important. However, the biggest problem remains the contamination of diesel fuel in the oil due to the DPF (diesel particulate filter), caused by failed or interrupted regenerations, which leads to most of the structural failures. Since these vehicles burn about one liter of oil every 10,000 km, it is possible for the oil level to actually rise due to failed regenerations. It is necessary not to fill the oil tank completely during oil changes, but to leave it slightly above halfway, and once a week, we should check the oil level. If it decreases, we should not worry, and at most, add a little more oil. If it increases, it means there is diesel contamination, and we should replace the oil as soon as possible. The average oil change is at 8,000 km, according to statistics.
