How to DIY Wheel Alignment

In this guide, learn how to perform wheel alignment yourself (note that you cannot talk about camber without specific equipment). First, check the tyre pressure, which should be as recommended by the manufacturer: then lock the steering to keep it centred. Next, obtain two jack stands to support a string, positioning them to keep the string perfectly straight alongside the car; a good reference is the rear wheel, which must be perfectly straight. Once done, measure the distance between the rear edge of the wheel and the front edge, adjusting the jack stand until the string is perfectly straight. Repeat this for the front wheel. Remember that the front wheels should have a slight divergence compared to the rear wheels, about 1 mm to 1.5 mm for front-wheel drive. If the measurement is incorrect, adjust the steering rods with the wheels on the ground. Unscrew the rod, then screw or unscrew depending on whether you need to bring it closer or further away from the string used for measurement.
