The EAT8 gearbox installed on Peugeot vehicles is a type of automatic gearbox that is operated by the specific switch located on the central tunnel: this switch can be set to P, R, N, D, and B (for electric engines) or M (for thermal engines). The P mode should be selected when the car is in parking position and allows you to engage the handbrake; R indicates reverse, N allows you to put the car in neutral, and D allows for automatic gear shifting. Finally, the letters B and M are found respectively on versions with electric and thermal engines: B activates the function that allows for greater absorption of electric energy during braking, while M allows for manual gear shifting using the paddles on the steering wheel.
