In this video, we see a problem affecting VAG 1.6 Turbo Diesel engines with 90 and 105 HP using Siemens injection: the injector supply coils, which can easily short circuit, preventing pre-injection. The symptom when they are worn is that they misfire, or when the condition is more advanced, the engine light comes on along with the glow plug light flashing, and especially the engine lacks power.

Unfortunately, the single coil is not supplied separately, so you must replace the entire injector (fortunately, refurbished injectors can be found, costing half the price and still come with a one-year warranty).
