How to manually release electronic parking brakes

Model: Volkswagen Tiguan BW, MK 2, AD - Years 2016-2025
Part: Parking brake

In this video we see how to manually release the electronic parking brake on a Volkswagen Tiguan: first we need to remove the caliper from the disc. To do this operation we do not need the OBD11 reader to retract the parking brake, we can do it manually. We will remove the two T30 bolts holding it in place. The inside seat is a T40 and we will unscrew it, then we will put a "C" clamp and we will be able to put the brake caliper back in place after putting the electronic actuator. We screw the two bolts back in and put the caliper back in place. Meanwhile we will have changed the brake pads (which was the minor problem) and put the bolts back in place.
