It is quite common for many models from the German manufacturer to experience the detachment of the upholstery from the roof lining as well as from the door panels; attempting to glue the same fabric is unthinkable as this upholstery consists of a thin layer of foam followed by the fabric; when it detaches, it is because the foam deteriorates to the point where it can no longer be re-glued; the correct procedure is to completely remove the fabric and thoroughly clean the backing to remove all residues; only at this point can you glue the new fabric, shaping it and ensuring it adheres perfectly.
