The procedure to reset the Service light that appears on the instrument panel of the Volkswagen Passat involves holding down the button on the right side of the instrument panel while it is turned off. By continuing to hold down the button, you can insert the ignition key into the corresponding slot. At this point, you can release the button once the instrument panel is turned on and rotate the one on the left side of the panel: this way you can turn off the instrument panel by turning the key in the opposite direction.
