How do you reset the Climatronic of the Volkswagen Passat?

The Climatronic system on the Volkswagen Passat can be completely reset by turning on the instrument panel, so that it is possible to use the controls on the central panel of the dashboard. Once the instrument panel has been turned on, you will need to simultaneously hold down the ECON button and the one with the arrow icon pointing towards the passenger's face. By doing so, you will notice that the dual-zone climate temperature indicators will become dark; after waiting a few seconds, the previously set temperature will be displayed again on the indicators and the air conditioning system will be restored.
