Operation: How do you reset the Climatronic of the Volkswagen Passat?

To reset the Climatronic on a Volkswagen Passat, turn on the instrument panel so that the controls on the central dashboard panel can be used. Once the panel is on, simultaneously press and hold the ECON button and the button with the arrow icon pointing towards the passenger's face. This will cause the dual-zone climate temperature indicators to turn black. After waiting a few seconds, the previous temperature settings will appear again and the Climatronic will be reset to its initial settings.
