The license plate light of the Volkswagen Up, how is it replaced?

It's not a job that is done very often, but it can happen that over time the bulb for the rear license plate light of our car, in this specific case the Volkswagen Up, burns out. This could be the perfect opportunity to decide to replace the entire bulb holder and upgrade it to a more modern LED version, so let's get to work: we use a small flathead screwdriver to pry and detach the bulb holder from the license plate, disconnect it from the power cable connector, connect the new one, and reassemble it in place of the old one. Done! Now all that's left is to turn on the lights and test its functionality.
