The fuse for the cigarette lighter socket on a Volkswagen Caddy is located inside the fuse box behind the glove compartment on the driver's side. To replace the fuse, get inside the vehicle and remove the glove compartment. Open the fuse box cover and remove the 15-amp green fuse. Insert a new fuse of the same amperage and close the fuse box cover; test the socket after a positive outcome, then reassemble the glove compartment. If the test is negative, remove the socket from its housing to check the internal connector.
