How to Change Engine Oil and Filters on a Volkswagen Golf V Diesel

See how to change the engine oil and filter on the Volkswagen Golf V diesel: Lift the car and place it on two sturdy axle stands, raise the bonnet and open the oil filler cap. From underneath the vehicle, open the drain plug and let all the oil flow into a large container, which you will then dispose of correctly at an authorised centre. While the oil drains, move to the filter, which is located in a metal casing with a central bolt. Before fitting the new filter, clean the sealing surface on the engine well, and lubricate the new seal with clean oil. The torque setting is 25 Nm for the filter and 20 Nm for the drain bolt (which you will replace with a new one along with its seal). The old filter also goes with the oil for disposal. Fill to 90% capacity with the oil specified by the manufacturer, start the engine for a few minutes, then check and top up as necessary.
