To replace the battery of the key remote for a Volkswagen Tiguan, press the button that releases the emergency key. Then, insert a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic lever into the slot near the hinge of the key and gently pry to separate the casing. Once the remote is open, locate the button cell battery and carefully extract it. Insert the new battery of the same type, ensuring the correct polarity, then reattach the two halves of the casing by applying slight pressure until the clips fully engage. Finally, close the flip key and check that the remote correctly operates the vehicle's locking and unlocking functions.
