How to Reset the Service Light on a Volkswagen Sharan?

From the display of the Volkswagen Sharan, you can clear the Service light by holding down the button located on the right side of the instrument cluster while it is off: continue holding the button and insert the ignition key into the ignition switch. Then turn it to activate the ignition: you will notice that as you continue to hold the button, the light will turn off completely, and you can then switch off the ignition by removing the key from the lock.
