How to Open and Close the Bonnet of the Volkswagen Tiguan MK2

To open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Tiguan MK2, first open the driver's door. Under the steering column, you will find the bonnet release lever: pull it towards you. At this point, the bonnet will be released from the main latch. Lift the bonnet slightly and, above the Volkswagen logo, locate the safety lever: push it upwards and lift the bonnet. To close, lower the bonnet to halfway, then let it drop with a gentle push from the mid-position: this way, it will latch correctly. If it does not close using this method, press down from above until fully closed. The procedure is simple and requires no tools.
