Replacing Engine Spark Plugs

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Gently remove the oil cap and then the plastic cover protecting the engine by simply lifting it upwards. Proceed to disconnect the spark plug leads. Using a 10mm socket wrench, unscrew the retaining nut of the first spark plug and pull the boot upwards. The first spark plug is located at the bottom of the well. Before proceeding with the removal, thoroughly clean the wells with compressed air to eliminate any dirt that could fall into the combustion chamber. Using the appropriate spark plug socket, which has a rubber gripping device, carefully insert it onto the spark plug head and unscrew it. Be careful not to drop any foreign objects into the well. Replace the spark plug with one of the same model, carefully inserting it into the well, always using the appropriate socket and turning it gently, ensuring it screws in correctly. If you feel resistance, remove it and try again. The spark plugs should be tightened with a torque wrench; if you do not have one, tighten without overdoing it. Proceed with the same operation for the other spark plugs.
