Replacing the Spark Plugs on a Volkswagen Passat 6 1.8 TSI

In this video tutorial, see how to replace the spark plugs on a Volkswagen Passat 6 1.8 TSI: get in the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake; lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod. Remove the engine cover to access the spark plugs. Once the engine cover is removed, you will see the ignition coils. Disconnect the electrical supply to the coils by lifting the retaining tab of the connector, then pull up the terminal, and now gently remove the coils. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean around the spark plug housing. Unscrew the spark plugs with a 16mm socket and extension. Once the spark plugs are removed, install the new spark plugs; for tightening, use a torque wrench according to the specifications provided by the manufacturer. Refit all parts in reverse order.
