Instructions for Replacing Spark Plugs

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

It is advisable to perform this maintenance with the engine cold for obvious reasons. Once the front bonnet is opened and secured, remove the plastic cover above the engine, disconnect the leads from the spark plug caps, and pull them upwards with force. Before unscrewing the spark plugs, blow into their respective seats to eliminate dirt that could enter the cylinders, then complete the removal of the spark plugs using the appropriate tool. Install the new spark plugs, ensuring compatibility and not exceeding the tightening torque. Refit the caps, connect the leads, and reposition the cover.
