How to Change the Timing Belts on a VW Golf 5

Watch this video to learn how to change the timing belt on a VW Golf 5. Lift the car on a column lift, remove the front wheel; use a screwdriver to unscrew the right wheel arch liner. Use a spanner to loosen the tensioner roller and slide the belt off its seat. With a socket wrench, unscrew the tensioner roller's securing bolt, remove the water pump (as shown in the video), and take off the timing belt. Fit the new water pump, the tensioner, and the belt itself, tightening everything with the socket wrench. Finally, refit the rivets along with the wheel arch liner and remount the wheel with the tyre onto the vehicle.
