Removing the Door Lock on a Golf Plus

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

If the door lock on your car is faulty and needs to be removed, we will show you how to do it. On this model, you can remove the outer door panel, which is held by several screws along its perimeter. Start by removing the side plastic covering part of these screws. You will then have access to the side, lower screws, and those next to the door hinges that need to be removed. Next, remove the external handle, secured by a removable pin through a hole on the side of the door, then disassemble both the fixed and movable parts. At this point, remove the last securing screw and the panel will come away. From here, you will have access to the faulty lock.
