How to Open the Stuck Boot Lock on the Volkswagen Golf VI

To open the stuck boot of a Volkswagen Golf VI, you will need a small, thin screwdriver and a torch for better visibility. Fold down the rear seats and shake the boot. In the centre of the tailgate, there is a gap in the plastic trim: in some versions, it is covered by a plastic cap, while in others (as shown in the video), it is not. Insert the screwdriver into the hole: you will feel a lever or mechanism to push sideways, simulating the action of the external handle. While pushing, someone can try to open the tailgate from the outside, or you can feel the latch and push the tailgate outwards yourself.
