Volkswagen Golf Key Warning Light Flashes

If you have a Volkswagen and the immobiliser light (yellow with a key symbol) is flashing, there could be several causes. The first (and most likely) is that you need to change the battery in the key itself. To do this, refer to the video: remove the top part of the key using a flat screwdriver, then open the central body. At this point, it will be easy to slide out the small battery (you may use the same flat screwdriver to help) and insert the new one. Reassemble everything by first replacing the central body and then the top part: just snap the various pieces back together. If the cause was not the key battery, it means there is a problem with the control unit: this can happen especially if there has just been some specific work done, for example, connecting your insurance's satellite navigation system.
