Removal of the Car Radio for Repair

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

To remove the car radio from the console, insert the appropriate tools into the side slots of the radio to release the retaining springs. At this point, slide the radio out of the slot, carefully disconnecting the connectors. Use your fingers to also release the clips at the top until the entire unit is removed, taking care of the speaker wires. Disconnect the control unit connector and unscrew all the screws that hold the speaker assembly in place. To reinstall the equipment, simply reconnect the connectors and gently slide the radio or player back into their slot, taking care not to pinch the electrical cables.
