How to Remove the Mirror Glass from the Volkswagen Passat B7

This guide shows how to replace the mirror glass of the external mirrors on the Volkswagen Passat B7. Using a trim removal tool, apply slight pressure on the edge of the glass, on the side towards the window, to detach the fixing clips. Be careful not to pull too hard on the glass as this may break the heating wires of the mirror. Once these two wires, which are push-fit, are disconnected, you can proceed to remove the rear part of the mirror. After unscrewing the five screws at the bottom of the housing, you can remove the electric position control of the mirror. Reassembly is done in reverse order. Installing the glass requires some care to avoid breaking the piece.
