Removal of the Left Front Door Lock

Once the panel is freed from the upholstery, remove the perimeter screws that secure it to the door structure. There are two covers on the panel that need to be removed, exposing the screws that anchor the window to the support connected to the window regulator motor. Take great care: to remove the glass, the screws must align with the holes on the panel, so the window must be lowered until this alignment is found. Once the screws are removed, this height will be necessary and sufficient to extract the glass from the door by sliding it upwards. Next, remove the window regulator motor, which is held by additional perimeter screws. Detach the panel from the door, which adheres via an adhesive that may also serve as a seal, and the locking pin. At this point, you can remove the locking device on the side of the door by removing the two screws present. The lock can then be removed by unscrewing the screw accessible through a hole on the side of the door. Use a screwdriver to extract the lock from the outside and disconnect it by unlocking a catch on the handle, releasing the locking device from the handle itself. At this point, the lock is completely disassembled.
