How to Replace the Tailgate Lock on a Volkswagen Passat?

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

To replace the tailgate lock on the Volkswagen Passat, remove all rivets located on the inside of the tailgate, on the carpet. Then, remove the plugs found on the sides and pull them out to completely remove the carpet from inside the tailgate. This will expose the interior of the lock, which can be removed by loosening its fixing screws and disconnecting the relevant connector. At this point, insert a new spare part, connect the lock to the connector, and secure it with the appropriate bolts.
