In this simple video tutorial, you will learn how to replace the old DSG gear knob with a new one on a seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf. Start by taking a lever and pressing on the lower part of the central section of the knob to slide it off and remove it. To remove the side parts of the knob, you need to release the four tabs holding the piece in place, using a small screwdriver to assist you. Perform this operation on both side parts as shown in the video. Now you can fit the new parts of the knob together.
