Volkswagen Touareg - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Touareg 7L, MK 1 - Years 2002-2010
Part: Dashboard
Operation: How to remove the group of gauges including the speedometer

The following tutorial explains how to remove the group of indicators including the speedometer from the dashboard of a Volkswagen Touareg. First remove the bezel around the ignition lock by unclipping the clips with a plastic spatula. Do the same thing with the panel on the other side of the steering wheel. At this point, two screws will be uncovered that secure the plastic support located at the base of the gauge board. The next step is to remove the plastic cover located above the dashboard. Unscrew the two screws that are exposed and you can remove the upper cover of the indicator unit. By removing a second upper cover it will finally be possible to extract the unit: disconnect its two electrical connections and you are done.
