How to Replace the Key Battery in a Volkswagen Golf 4

To replace the key battery in a Volkswagen Golf 4, first use a small precision screwdriver to unscrew the two screws located on the back. Lift the cover from the bottom and remove it carefully to avoid damaging the two plastic tabs on the opposite side. At this point, the battery will be visible, but to remove it, you need to take out the entire circuit from the key. Once done, using the tip of the screwdriver, slide the battery out of its housing and replace it with a new one. Reinsert the circuit back into the key, attach the cover by first securing the upper tabs, and close it with the two screws.
