Replacing the battery in the key/remote of a 2017 Volkswagen Golf Mk7 follows the same procedure used for replacing the key battery in a VW Passat or VW Tiguan. This is a very simple operation that requires just one step and a few minutes of your time.

Take the remote and, using a flathead screwdriver, lift the cover of the key to access the battery. Remove the old battery and insert a new one in its place.

Close the cover and test the remote's functionality.
