How to replace the gear knob on a Volkswagen Polo
Model: Volkswagen Polo
MK IV, Polo IV, Polo 4, MK 4, 9N
- Years 2001-2009
How to change the gear knob on your Volkswagen Polo. In fact, the video does not change the entire knob, but only the cover that was even broken, leaving the "teeth" inside the base that the YouTuber had to remove with a small screwdriver to fit the new cover. If this is your problem too, know that the cover alone costs £3.00, while if you want to change the entire knob, it comes with the gaiter and is around £20.00 on major e-commerce platforms. Despite the low cost, our YouTuber wasted his money because the slots of the new cap did not match the holes in the base, so he had to patiently restore his old cover by gluing it with a two-component adhesive, letting it dry for a whole day, and then repositioning the old cover. Be very careful when purchasing this replacement part!
