How to Install the Cruise Control Lever on a Volkswagen Tiguan That Doesn't Have It

Install the cruise control lever on your Tiguan that lacks this feature. First, disconnect the battery. Pull the steering wheel towards you and turn it fully to the right, then fully to the left. Use a mirror to see the two holes above and below to release the airbag by pulling down the clip. Release the airbag by disconnecting the two connectors. To remove the steering wheel, you need a special 12 mm socket with a ratchet and an extension. Be careful of the alignment mark! Remove the two covers from the steering column (the lower one is a bit more complicated). Remove the small T8 screw under the steering column. Remove the old lever. Install the new one with its mechanism connected. You can find this lever on Amazon (price not specified). Now reassemble everything in reverse order. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
