Instructions for Upholstering Armrest

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

It is quite common for the upholstery of the armrest to become damaged (as happens on the door panel) due to constant contact with the elbow: it can be upholstered with faux leather or fabric to restore it. Once the upper element of the armrest (which also serves as a cover for the storage compartment underneath) is removed, lever along the edges to detach the plastic reinforcement from the upholstered top; cut a piece of fabric so that it exceeds the edges by 3 or 4 centimetres; first, secure the side edges with a staple gun while keeping the upholstery taut; then move to the other two ends ensuring no wrinkles form; trim the excess fabric from the inside and reapply the plastic reinforcement cover.
