In this tutorial, you will see how to replace the ignition cylinder in a Volkswagen Golf, a straightforward operation that requires good manual skills. First, ensure the vehicle is off, then disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, unclip the central cover of the steering wheel, and undo the large central nut. Next, remove the steering wheel from the steering column, unscrew the three indicated screws, and remove the control lever module. At this point, drill a hole in the indicated position, about 12 mm from the plastic edge, then insert a small screwdriver into it and unlock the retaining clip of the cylinder. Once extracted, insert the replacement and reassemble everything.
