How to Replace the Key Remote Battery on a Volkswagen Golf

This tutorial teaches you how to replace the battery in the remote key for a Volkswagen Golf from 2005/2006. First, extract the metal key from inside the remote by pressing the button located in the upper corner of the casing, which will release the key. Next, insert the tip of a screwdriver into the side groove of the casing and lever it to separate the battery compartment from the rest of the remote. Using the flat tip of a screwdriver, lever the edge of the bottom part of the remote to open the battery compartment. Proceed to extract and replace the battery.
