How to Replace the Turbo on a Volkswagen Touran

Model: Volkswagen Touran MK 1, 1T - Years 2003-2015

To replace the turbo on your Volkswagen Touran, first remove the fuel filter by disconnecting the connector—this clip is on the right side. Next, remove the engine cover, battery, and air filter. Once everything is removed, locate the turbo actuator, disconnect the connector and pipes. Now unscrew the three screws that hold it in place, which are on the right side of the unit. At the back, it is secured by a circlip that you can remove gently with your fingers. You can now reinstall the new (or refurbished, as shown in the video) turbo by fitting the turbo bar into its housing and reattaching the circlip. Refit the three bolts; reposition the battery, air filter, engine cover, and fuel filter. The job is complete.
