In this video tutorial, you will see how to replace the rear wiper motor on a Volkswagen Golf IV by following a few simple steps. To carry out this task, you will need a quarter-inch ratchet (with 13 mm and 10 mm sockets), a wiper arm puller, a combination pliers, and a star screwdriver. The wiper motor is bolted inside the tailgate, so you need to dismantle it. Start by removing the cap located at the bottom of the wiper arm; use the pliers to pull out the nozzle, then unscrew the central nut. Now, using the puller, remove the wiper arm (or you can gently wiggle it off). Once the wiper arm is removed, use the star screwdriver to take out the screws securing the panel (as shown in the video). After removing the two screws, you can detach the panel by hand. Once the panel is removed, you will find the wiper motor. Disconnect the plug for the windscreen washer system, then loosen the three nuts (10 mm socket); now you can take out the motor.
