How to Replace the External Wing Mirror on a Volkswagen Polo 6N

To replace the external wing mirror on your Volkswagen Polo 6N, start from inside the door. Remove the triangular seal next to the glass, which is clipped in place. You will see one of the bolts, while the other two are under the interior of the door. First, remove the window control knob: push up on the safety catch and the knob will come off easily. Remove the plastic cover of the handle: underneath you will find two bolts to remove, then take off the cover of the adjustment wheel and the wheel itself: there are two screws underneath that you need to remove. Take off the door lock, and now you can extract the door panel. You will now see the three support screws for the mirror, which you can now remove. Fit the new mirror by refitting the three screws. Reattach the panel, securing it with the two screws located under the handle. Refit the wheel and its cover; the window crank, the door lock, and the triangular seal next to the glass. The job is complete.
