Let's see how to repair the centre armrest of a Volkswagen Golf 5. If, as shown in the video, there is something wrong with the mechanism for opening the glove compartment, you can, with a bit of patience, find a solution. First, dismantle the rear part to access the mechanism. Clean the gears thoroughly, lubricate them, and check that the springs are intact and in place. In the case shown in the video, there was a damaged plastic part, which the YouTuber repaired with a piece of adhesive tape cut to size. Once verified that the gear was now functioning properly, he reassembled the rear part and closed the armrest, which now works perfectly.
