To remove the dashboard of a Volkswagen Golf, use a thin object to pry off the trims that surround the entire dashboard: start from the centre, then loosen the screws that secure the radio and the control panel below. Next, detach the side trims from the passenger side and those that surround the steering column. This will allow you to loosen the screws at the rear, remove the central airbag, and take off the steering wheel; all the components just removed can then be replaced with new spare parts.
