Replacing the Air Filter in the Volkswagen T4 Transporter

To ensure engine efficiency and keep fuel consumption in check, it is recommended to replace the air filter in the Volkswagen T4 Transporter at the intervals specified in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, more frequently if driving on unpaved or dusty roads. Open the bonnet of the engine compartment and start by removing the large air intake on the passenger side. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor, and using pliers, loosen the clamp and detach the outlet pipe. Unclip the metal bracket and open the cover of the filter box, remove the old filter element and insert the new one, ensuring the rubber edge fits snugly in its seat. Close the cover, reconnect the pipe, insert the sensor connector, and reposition the air intake.
