Let’s see how to change the gear gaiter and knob on your Volkswagen Up. You can easily obtain the replacement part on Amazon, for example at £21.50 (including delivery), or if you want an original part, you can find it on eBay for £40.91 plus delivery charges. Removing the gaiter from its housing is easy; just slightly lift the frame that holds the gaiter in place and it will come off without any issues. You need to remove the clip that holds the gaiter around the gear stick and then take off the knob. Refit the new gaiter, securing it with its clip, slot the base back in, and reattach the knob. Job done.
