Locating the Fuse Box on the Volkswagen Passat B5

The Volkswagen Passat B5 has a single fuse box located in the thickness of the dashboard's side panel. To access the fuse box, lever the panel from the lower slot of the side, removing it to reach the fuses. However, there is a complication, as the fuse box layout differs in vehicles built before May 2002 compared to those built after. In both cases, the symbols for the various fuses are mirrored on the cover for easy identification. The cigarette lighter fuse (power socket) is #17 until May 2002, and #33 from May 2002 onwards.
