Today, we will look at the procedure for removing and replacing the cigarette lighter in a Volkswagen Passat, including replacing it with a 12V socket if necessary. First, get inside the cabin and start removing the plastic side covers located under the gear lever; then unscrew the fixing screws found in the holes, as shown in the video.

Next, disconnect the electrical connector of the cigarette lighter to remove it, replacing the component if necessary; reconnect the electrical connection and finally reassemble the side plastics!
