Replacing the Cigarette Lighter Fuse on the Volkswagen Passat

The cigarette lighter socket in the Volkswagen Passat no longer serves just its original function but is increasingly used as a power socket for small devices. This increases the likelihood of issues requiring the intervention of its protective fuse. If this occurs, the fuse box is located on the driver's side of the dashboard, hidden by the closed door. The fuse of interest is positioned at the bottom, yellow in colour; remove it, possibly using the provided tweezers, and replace it with a new one.
