Replacing the External Rear View Mirror Glass

Replacing the rear view mirror glass is very simple and does not require disassembling the mirror itself; it is also easy to find aftermarket replacements at competitive prices; that said, protect the edge of the mirror cover with a cloth (a very practical solution) and use a screwdriver to pry behind the glass to detach it from its support and move it away enough to disconnect the heating wires; then bring the new glass close, connect the wires to the heater, and align the tabs with the slots on the support before pressing the glass until it clicks into place.
