The clock adjustment system on the Volkswagen Golf 4 is purely mechanical, so the instrument cluster does not need to be powered on to set the correct time. The only thing you need is the button located on the dashboard, which is positioned immediately next to the display showing the time, specifically at the bottom right of it.
