The deterioration of the gear shift gaiter is a common issue in many cars, caused by friction during gear changes and, above all, the low quality of the covering itself. The definitive solution to this problem is to replace the gaiter with one made of genuine leather. To remove the gaiter, simply detach the frame at the base of the gaiter and then unclip the metal band applied just below the knob, pulling off the knob complete with the gaiter. At this point, remove the ring that secures the gaiter to the knob and apply the new one made of genuine leather.
